They did a study that determined that people doing CPR have the best results when listening to the bee gees song staying alive. No kidding. the tempo of that song is 103 bpm and is perfect for CPR. the researchers were trying to find the best songs to help people get the rhythm right. they found that even humming the song improves performance.

I'll have to get a better picture, camera phones only give so much detail at night, but I think it's pretty decent for my first real foray into sculpting. Next step? Well, I was gonna say the chest plate but that's rather daunting so prolly the leather wrist braces will wind up being next.

Vid = Back in Black from AC/DC's Black Ice Tour dress rehearsal last night. And can I say if you can afford the tickets OMG GO. Our seats? Floor, 12 rows back! My ears were still ringing today and my neck is stiff as hell and I wouldn't have it another way. Black Ice is a great CD and they played almost every hit I wanted them to. Complete with canons, fire, a giant bell, a HUGE inflatable chick 'riding' the Massive train they had as their set. And the greatest 3 minute guitar solo I've heard live, thank you Angus.

Omg it was awesome. Only way it coulda been topped was if I got my pass signed. I might have died. Holy crap.

ETA: Rock 'N Roll Train from Black Ice just cuz it's awesome and I gotta keep sharing here and encourage love for the new album. XD

Can I just say that I love the mere existence of Google's Mail Goggles. The fact there is an inebriation check before you send email? FANTASTIC. I don't use gmail so the love of this application does not come from it saving my ass. No, it just makes me happy it's around.

Also, apparently the lousy economy is good for our health! A new study from stanford showed that in times of plenty we tend to live it up and do unhealthy things like partying it up, earning a living and eating food. Obviously, in the not so good times we're cutting back, giving in and staying in with the family instead of happy hour and getting lotsa good exercise by running back and forth to the mailbox looking for relief checks. See! Everything has it's silver lining, even economic downturn.

FOR THE RECORD: Any hiatus notes from me that might have been posted are LIES!!!! Dirty lies.

My 'hiatus' causing trip to Florida amounted to flying to Memphis...sitting there for FOUR HOURS before flying to DETROIT and then back to DC. It was a world of bad...that I paid 350 bucks to endure. Freakin tropical storm.

So now I'm here! With two more days off of work....so if anyone is bored or wants one of my characters I'm all yours to entertain.

Also...I now hate Memphis. Even if their airport smells like barbecue.

So I spent today without wifi or tv or video games and eventually went through almost all the books I had to read. That meant radio time. And for some reason that led to making NPR related icons. I'm even kinda happy with some of them!

Hmmm, I think it fits me as much as it doesn't. Well, the stuff it gets is dead on and the stuff thats off is just kinda off. So I'll approve it's assessment.

Alright. I'm taking suggestions. I am DETERMINED to go on a vacation FOR ONCE. Like a real vacation. I haven't done that in...years. Someplace I can do in a weekend, not too horribly expensive...so like someplace in country. I'm aiming for August. What should I do?

I WANT THIS HEADACHE TO GO AWAY NOW! GOOD GOURD!
